Cholere gorge

Close to Adelboden is a left-hand side valley: the Tschentetal. This valley has a large catchment area and the Tschentbach often has a large flow. At the bottom of the Tschentetal, just before the junction, the valley turns into a narrow and deep gorge: the Cholereschlucht. It is not very long but the route is spectacular.

From the centre of Adelboden, follow the tarmac road to Ausserschwand and Holzachseggen, which is not far from the mouth of the Tschentbach in the Entschlige. After crossing a large bridge, follow the left bank of the Tschentbach and soon you will enter the gorge. The atmosphere is very humid. You can also see the work of the water on the rock.

Once you have left the gorge, follow the road back to Adelboden. It should be noted that the route described here is the recommended (or enforced) route. Indeed, at the exit of the gorge, a sign indicates that you must go down to the foot of the gorge. The bridges and stairs in it do not allow you to cross or overtake.
