The Bunderle Waterfalls

A special peak is located opposite the village of Adelboden. It is a long ridge forming a half circle. It is less well known than the neighboring Wildstrubel, but its somewhat twisted appearance makes it an interesting mountain. At its foot is a rocky cirque with a few waterfalls falling from a kind of shell.

This is the cirque we decided to visit that day. Originally, we had planned to cross the different streams by making a loop. But the presence of snow avalanche debris forced us to return a bit and then go back along the other side of the trail.

The first part of the trail is in some way an old acquaintance of ours, as it leads to the Bonderchrinde, a small and steep pass that connects to the Kander valley. We made this crossing a long time ago, in the late 1970s.

We started in Adelboden and first went down to cross the Allebach and the Entschlige to go up to Bonderle. This climb along the paved road is very steep in places. When we arrived at Im Läger, we continued a bit further and then returned to cross the stream on a small suspension bridge. Then we climbed up to cross through the woods at the foot of the Lohner cliff to join the Bonderchrinde trail just below I de Louwene. The return was then made along the official trail that follows the right bank of the Bunderlebächli and crosses it on a comfortable bridge.
